About THW Charolais Stud

THW Charolais began in 2007 with neighbours Tony Farrell, Calmview Charolais and Richard Harms, Valley View Charolais joining forcers to bring THW.

For over 5 years prior to the two joining, the partners individually sourced their own male and female genetics. Proven quality females that were genetically impressive, visually correct with tractable EBV’s were found and purchased. Birthweight and milk EBV’s were also high on our agenda.

Female genetics sourced and used to date include:

• Advance Stud – Friesia Z56 (interbreed champion heifer 2006 RNA and mother of Grand Champion Bull & Interbreed champ Sydney Royal Easter show 2010 & Junior Champion Dubbo Beef Spectacular 2010 - THW Dee V8), Gina (Junior Champ Dubbo 2006 and full sister to Advance XR8)
• Airlie Stud – Noisette, Rebecca and Kelly
• Fernvale Stud – Kool Kate, Bottletree Cynthia, Yarra Rose, Ja-Cie and Primadonna, Chiffon, Mandie and Angel. 
• Myall Stud – Arley (Junior Champion Heifer Ekka and Beef 2006) and Wonderwoman
• Palgrove Stud – Aroha, Estella 32 & 73, Maxine, Demeter, Harem and Gunnaddo Edie
• Glenlea Stud – Nolana, Caarol and Elsa

Today, THW is utilising the wider donor base for their embryo transfer and AI program at Casino with some of the best legendary bulls and new trait leaders.

Valuable and often no long longer available semen have been purchased including Aga Khan, BCR Polled, Exclusif, Primemover, Fleets Rascal, Impair, Fernvale Ripper, Salopiau, Rio Bravo, Laurel, Cigar, Mr. Perfect, Wyoming Wind, Golden Eagle, Novotel, Viagra, Platinum Ultra, Trinity Farm Rosendo, Tattenhall Impecable and WCR Sir Fa Mac.

With walking bulls such as

• Rosedale Archie (winner 14-16mth class Melbourne Royal Charolais Feature Show 2006 and Senior Champion Bull in 2007 at the Sydney Royal) and
• Fernvale Bullseye (check his EBV’s!) in our paddock we have the girls covered.
• THW Dee V8

And Today, 2010 – THW Dee V8 (Impair out of Advance Friesia Z56) Junior Champion at Dubbo Beef Spectacular 2010 and took out all in the ring at the Sydney Royal Easter Show 2010 winning Junior Champion Bull, Grand Champion Bull and Interbreed Champion. He even went on to win the prestigious Hordern Trophy (teaming up with Palgrove Panache and calf).

Dee V8 has since been sold to Sideshow Charolais with a 1/8 share retained.
